Linda A. Gerard, a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, partner, and friend, passed away peacefully with her family by her bedside November 11, 2013 at the young age of 73. Linda resided in Loveland, Colorado for the past 4 years with her best friend Terry Pazier. Linda, with the support and love of her family and friends, endured a number of strokes over the years. Even with the grace, love, and laughter to will her through the strokes, which eventually took her life.
Linda was born to Floyd Moyer and Lillian Schloser on August 18, 1940 in Los Angeles, California. She was a mother of 5 children; between 1961 to 1966. She spent her early years raising children before entering the retail management industry. She worked in the grocery business for 30 years, in which, she loved to visit with customers and co-workers about everyday life events. Her infectious smile and buoyant personality made her friends with everyone. She worked in Colorado until 1988, moved to the warmth of southern Florida where she lived for 15 years. During her time in Florida, she loved the sun, warm weather, and walks on the beaches. She returned to Colorado to be closer to her family.
Linda was a person of faith. She was raised a Catholic, to which, she enjoyed attending mass and celebrating the holidays. As a youth, Linda enjoyed playing softball and basketball at an all-girls catholic school.
As a mother and friend, she was very good at talking and listening to people. Her conversations were never short and typically filled with laughter and kindness. She talked and listened all night to friends and family – the subject didn’t matter and while on the phone she enjoyed doodling to pass the time. She was the “Dear Abby” of the family.
In 1974, Thornton, CO, she shared a home with her best friend and partner, Terry Pazier. The two women raised 7 children in a 3 bedroom house, whom they loved and raised as one big family. They worked hard to give their kids the best they could by providing them with the tools and foundation required for life, including manners, family togetherness, and discipline. After the children moved out, they continued to live together and did so for the rest of her life.
Linda enjoyed many things in life, including a celebrations, animals, cars, cooking, shopping, and coupons. If there was a holiday, birthday, or event, she was the first one ready to celebrate. Over the years, Linda had many pets that she treated like her babies. At one time, she practically had a zoo living in the house with all the children.
Linda will be truly missed by her family and friends. She is survived by her best friend and partner of over 40 years, Terry Pazier of Loveland; Sons, Steve Gerard of Aurora, Bill (Gail) Gerard of Centennial , and Scott (Melinda) Gerard of Golden; Daughters, Noelle (David) Krueger of Gig Harbor, Washington, and Christina (Corbett) McLaren of Parker; Granddaughters, Amber Gerard of Centennial, Elizabeth (Chad) Fox of Gig Harbor, Washington, Ashley (Casey) Procter of Federal Way, Washington, Cheyenne McLaren of Parker, and Grandsons Chauncey McLaren of Parker and Zach Gerard of Golden; Great Granddaughter Kendsey Fox; Great Grandsons, Connor Fox and Evan Procter; Brother Bill (Marilyn) Moyer of Los Angeles, California.
