John A. Doherty

John “Jack” Doherty of Louisville, CO, originally of Naperville, IL passed away on August 19, 2010 in Boulder. He was born to John Newman Doherty and Margaret Mary Anne (Farrell) Doherty on July 13, 1943 in Chicago, IL.

Jack married Suzanna Marie “Susie” (Nemick) Doherty in Pueblo, CO on November 19, 1978. He received his BA from the University of Colorado at Boulder and his MBA from the University of Denver and then became an inventor and salesman within the road industry. He also served in the Air National Guard and the reserve of the United States Air Force. Jack was a member of Kappa Sigma fraternity and enjoyed skiing, traveling, running and listening to the Rolling Stones. He was a loving husband and father who will be missed more than he could ever imagine.

Jack is survived by his wife, Susie; children, Meghan Marie Doherty, Jill Suzanne (Adam) Wallenstein, Timothy Newman Doherty; and sister Peg (Larry) Neal; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. He is preceded in death by his father, John; mother, Margaret; and brother, Bill “Duffy” Doherty.

A mass will be held in Jack’s memory at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, August 24, 2010 at St. Louis Catholic Church, 925 Grant Avenue, Louisville, CO 80027-1915. Reverend Timothy Gaines will officiate. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Friends of Broomfield, 555 Alter Street, Broomfield, CO 80020; and St. Louis Catholic Church Early Learning Center (address above).
