Jessica Michele Ochs

A Colorado native, Jessi attended primary and secondary schools in Boulder, CO. She graduated from Fairview High School where she became the first person in Fairview’s history to letter in three varsity sports (softball, basketball, and soccer) all four years. She attended the University of Colorado on a soccer scholarship, but moved to the University of Montana in Missoula, where she graduated with a BA in Psychology. She obtained an MA in Psychology from Liberty University.

Jessi married her high school sweetheart, Craig, in 2004. She is mother to four children: Lucy, Trevor, Major, and Tucker.

Jessi earned her teaching certification and taught elementary education to underprivileged children in Kansas City, KS. While in Colorado Springs, CO, she counseled and provided therapy to U.S. veterans and their families.

Jessi loved the outdoors and enjoyed annual “fam camps” with her siblings and cousins. She considered Chautauqua in Boulder her sanctuary, spending time there in the summers with her in-laws Steve and Gretchen Ochs, Jason (Meredith) Ochs, and Jessica (Elias) Louis. She played soccer and basketball with her children and Craig any time the weather permitted. She loved her dogs: Stanley, Roger, Darla, and Doc.

Jessi is sister to Jennifer, John, and James (Beth) Burgener, and Joann (Kyle) Woltman. She shared her childhood with her 14 cousins: Jerod, John Paul, Jeffery, Jacqueline, Kimberly, Rick, Amie, Robbie, David, Aly, Jake, Ben, Molly, and Will.

She has four uncles: Jack (Sandi [d.]) Bullock; Mike (Karen) Bullock; Robert [d.] (Tracy) Bullock; and Paul (Pat) Burgener. Her three aunts are Pam (Dan) Decker, Lori (Scott) Hixon and Kathy Burgener [d.].

Jessi has left us. She departed with an unassailable love of the Lord and belief in His promises. We believe she is with Jesus and is enjoying her new body and freedom in His kingdom.

A Celebration of Life will be held January 26, at 10 a.m., at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, 3700 Baseline Rd, Boulder CO. The service will also be streamed live on Zoom at
