She passed away peacefully on October 11, 2023, surrounded by her devoted family.
Jackie graduated from University of Colorado in 1956 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting. She was a Pi Beta Phi for all 4 years and was on their House Committee for many years. She loved all things Buffs and the Denver Broncos. She loved to travel, play bridge with her neighborhood group, discuss books with her book club, garden when she could, watch old westerns and quietly beat her family in card games.
Jackie fought Multiple Sclerosis for 49 years with humor, patience and determination.
Jackie’s beloved husband, William E. Collins II, passed away in 2001 after 44 years of marriage. She was fond of saying she met him in junior high and raised him right.
She is survived by her son, William E. Collins III and his spouse Tammy Houser of White Lake, MI, and daughter, Laurie Collins Carter and her husband Eric Carter of Longmont, CO. Jackie was a loving grandmother to 4 grandchildren who she loved dearly; Matthew and Kate Collins and Megan and Jordan Carter.
A celebration of life for Jackie will be held Saturday, March 9, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Crist Mortuary Chapel, 3395 Penrose Place, Boulder, CO 80301.
All are welcome to come to our house for snacks, memories, love and laughter after the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society would be greatly appreciated.
