Helen was born in Chicago, IL, in 1921, the daughter of R. Knox and Jane Campbell Bradford. She grew up in Denver, CO, graduating from East High School in 1939. She attended Colorado College for two years, then moved with the family to Salt Lake City, UT, in January 1942.
She married Roderick Kessler Sheridan in 1942 when he returned from serving in World War II and moved to Indianapolis, IN. They had a son, Knox, in 1946. They divorced in 1950 in Salt Lake City.
She married Robert Secrist Wasley in 1958 and moved to Boulder. He adopted Knox and they had a son, James Hedgecock Wasley, in 1959. Bob, a long-time Accounting professor at the University of Colorado Boulder, died in 1994.
Helen actively served in several organizations: Chapter EQ P.E.O., Daughters of the American Revolution Arapahoe Chapter, Presbyterian Women, Fortnightly, University of Colorado Women’s Club, Miniature Book Society, and Delta Gamma. She belonged to each of these organizations for over 50 years, and to Delta Gamma for 80 years.
She loved her time, activities, and many friends in Boulder.
She is survived by sister Jane Campbell Bradford (Capitola, CA), sons Knox (Upland, CA) and Jim (Racine, WI), daughters-in-law Terri O’Brien and Pam Schermer, granddaughters Shannon Wasley, Katie Leon, and Elizabeth Delong, and great-grandchildren Abigail, Emily, Gabriel, and Cristian.
There will be no services.
