Harry was born on January 7, 1921 in Grand Island, Nebraska to Harry, Sr. and Elizabeth Clark (Pringle). They moved to Boulder and Harry graduated from Boulder High School in the class of 1940. Harry married Maurene L. Mosley on July 13, 1942 at Camp Claiborne, Louisiana. They had three children: Linda Jean Clark, James Edward Clark and Kathleen Ann Clark.
Harry served in the Army during WWII from 1942 to 1945 with the 349 Engineer Regiment in the Aleutian Islands, Alaska as well as the 3182 Engineer Regiment in Okinawa, Japan. Harry obtained the rank of Tech Sergeant and was very proud of his military service and his country, The United States of America.
When he returned home from the war, he worked as a mechanic at several auto shops in Boulder. He then went on to work for Coors in Golden at the Porcelain Plant. For a brief time, he worked at the Dow Chemical Rocky Flats Plant.
From 1963 until his retirement in 1984, Harry worked at the University of Colorado- Boulder Campus in the Physics Department. He was in charge of the machine shop and machined the pendulum that hangs in the Physics building.
Both Harry and Maurene enjoyed camping and traveling in their motorhome. Harry liked to work on physics projects at home and created all kinds of interesting working items. He was especially fond of his little Boston Terrier, Jazz, who would accompany them on their travels. Harry loved his family and life. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather and will truly be missed.
Harry was preceded in death by his parents; brother George Clark; daughter Linda Jean Clark; son James Edward Clark and granddaughter Tiffany Shuler.
Harry is survived by his wife of 70 years, Maurene; daughter Kathleen (Jack) Shuler; grandson Kent Galbraith; granddaughters Kristina Roubison and Brittany Tilley and great grandchildren Bri Galbraith, James Edward Roubison and Peyton Elizabeth Roubison.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, August 28, 2012 at Crist Mortuary Chapel. Interment will follow at Mountain View Memorial Park-Boulder. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in his name to Pathways Hospice. www.pathways-care.org.
