Gail Katherine Skinner of Boulder, CO died on May 4, 2016 at home. She was 68. She was born on January 10, 1948 in San Francisco, CA. She graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara and majored in Art History. In 1969 she married David Skinner, and together they had 2 children, Amy and Eric. Gail dedicated her life to family and community, volunteering with schools, parenting groups, museums, churches and art organizations in California, Kansas and Colorado. Nicknamed the energizer bunny, Gail won countless volunteer of the year awards, and her passionate commitment to mentoring launched hundreds of children into adulthood. The ultimate hostess, Gail was known for her gourmet cooking, personalized gifts and ability to connect diverse groups of people. Gail’s love of art, culture and travel took her all around the world including Europe, her favorite place to visit with David. Gail is survived by her husband David and her daughter Amy, and was predeceased by her son, Eric. She will be missed by all. A Visitation will take place 5-7 pm Monday, May 9th, at Crist Mortuary, 3395 Penrose Pl. in Boulder, CO. The Memorial Service will be held at 1 pm Wednesday, May 11th at Trinity Lutheran Church, 2200 Broadway in Boulder, CO. Memorial donations may be made in Gail’s name to the University of Colorado Foundation (Eric Sutton Skinner Memorial Scholarship Fund, 0150606) or to Trinity Lutheran Church.
