Doris Faye Montgomery

Doris was the youngest of nine children and was born on August 4th, 1929 to Fred and Minnie Hallock. She grew up in Oxford and Lake Orion, Michigan.

She became a Registered Nurse at the Hurley School of Nursing in Flint and later earned a Master’s Degree in Nursing at Michigan State University.

In 1959, Doris met Weldon James Montgomery on a ski trip in northern lower Michigan. They married in 1960 and raised three sons: Jim, Tom and Dan.

Doris worked nights and weekends as a nurse at Sparrow Hospital in Lansing and later as a nursing instructor for 25 years at Lansing Community College.

After retirement, Doris and Weldon moved to Colorado to be near their boys and to pursue their passions for skiing and hiking.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Frederick and Minnie, and her siblings Arda, Kenneth, Erma, Elva, Wyland, Jean, Rex, and Lois. She is survived by her sons James (Janet), Thomas (Darla), and Daniel (Siv), grandchildren Stephanie (Anthony) Ritter, Evan, Anna (Christopher) McMahon, Mitchell (Eleni), Christina, and Kimberly, and one (very) great-grandchild, Judah.

Services will be held at 11am on Thursday, October 17, 2024 at Crist Mortuary - 3395 Penrose Place in Boulder, Colorado
