Dolores Campbell

Dolores was born in Yonkers, NY to Beatrice and Robert Fricker on November 23,1929. She graduated from St. Barnabas Elementary and High School in Bronx NY. She married John D Campbell on June 13, 1953 in Yonkers, NY. She worked as a vital records keeper for JP Morgan Chase for 25 years.

At the age of forty, Dolores became a single mother after the unexpected passing of her husband John. With fortitude, grace and love she overcame all the obstacles thrown at her and was the driving force behind the success of her children, Michael, Lori and Kathy.

Dolores loved to travel. She sailed across the Atlantic, took in London, tasted Paris, kissed the Blarney Stone, enjoyed road trips to New England, Seattle and said Aloha to Hawaii. She also loved to sing and was known to spontaneously kick up a high step and swing an umbrella to the rhythms of ‘Singing In the Rain’. When she and her sisters gathered in later summers, their harmonies filled the air.

Although her marriage to John was cut short by his passing at an early age, together they loved adventures to New York City to attend Broadway musicals and under protest, a Nathen’s hot dog from sidewalk carts.

After retiring from Chase, Dolores moved to Boulder, to live with her daughter Kathy and help raise her grandson. Her Sunday New York Times kept her New York roots nurtured.

Although she considered herself a shy person, once she let you into her comfort zone, Dolores was a fountain of inquisitive conversation, laughter that led to giggles and memorable good cheer.

Dolores is preceded in death by her parents, Beatrice and Robert; husband John and siblings, Robert Fricker, Beatrice Pritchard, Geraldine Murphy and Walter Fricker.

Dolores is survived by her children, Michael Campbell and partner Paul McKittrick, Lori Campbell, Kathleen Campbell, Grandson Taylor Roberts and his wife Tracy Roberts. And many nephews and nieces.
