Carol LaVonne (Chalmers) Foulk, 86, was born in Huntington Indiana on July 7, 1935. She moved around a lot as a child living in Indiana, Michigan, and California. She graduated from Huntington High in Huntington, Indiana in 1953 and shortly thereafter moved to Colorado with a good friend – she never left.
In Colorado, she worked in Denver for a while then decided to go to college at Colorado State College of Education in Greeley (now UNC). She graduated with a degree in Fine Arts and a minor in theater. While at UNC she met her husband, Charles (Buzz) Leland Foulk. They married just before he was stationed in Germany, and she moved there to be with him. After his service was complete, they moved to Boulder and started a family having two children. Carol was a stay-at-home mother until her beloved Buzz passed away from Cancer in 1969. She then went on to be an Elementary Art Teacher with Boulder Valley Schools for 30 years while raising her two children. She loved the outdoors and in her younger years skied, fly fished, and hiked. She also loved reading, going to plays, the opera and symphony, travel, and meeting with her friends for meals out. She most of all loved spending time with family.
She is survived by her brother Mark Chalmers, her children Cary Foulk and Cheryl (Foulk) Labadie, her four grandchildren, Andreas Foulk, Lyta Foulk, Emily Labadie, and Ian Labadie, plus three granddogs, one grandcat and two great granddogs all of who she loved very much.
A memorial service for Carol will be on Friday, February 11, 2022 at 12:00 PM at Unity of Boulder Church 2855 Folsom St, Boulder, CO 80304 with a reception to immediately follow at the church.
