Cadence Joanne Tilton

Cadence Joanne Tilton was born in Tyler, Texas on October 15, 2002, and moved to Nederland, Colorado when she was 13. She later attended Colorado Mountain College in Steamboat Springs where she quickly met her boyfriend, Patrick Stowe. Together they were perfect soulmates. He was very loving, caring, and kind to her, and she felt the same about him. Everyone could tell the two of them had something special together. Her friends and family all adored Patrick and were happy to see Cadence find the person she belonged with most. After college they planned to return to Nederland so she could be closer to her nephew Jax, but a car accident prematurely took her life at the age of 20 on February 8, 2023. She was a loving and sweet old soul who left this world too soon. True to form, Cadence opted to be an organ donor, and although she’s gone, her family takes comfort in knowing her heart will still go on beating.

Cadence was a bright, beautiful young woman who was full of so much life. She was kind to everyone she met no matter their creed or class and loved all the animals of the earth including her turtles, bearded dragon, and crested geckos. Cadence was full of fire and kindness, believed in equal rights for all, and was quick to speak her mind at the sight of any injustice. A fun and quirky free spirit, Cadence loved music of the 80s, her record player, vintage things, playing video games, anything Elton John, Billy Joel’s “Vienna,” Ozzy Osbourn’s “Ordinary Man,” and watching The Golden Girls. Cadence was colorful and vibrant with a soft, wonderful smile that was hard to forget. She adored being an aunt to her nephew Jax, and she loved her family and friends with all her heart.

Cadence will be missed dearly by all those who had the pleasure and privilege to know her. If you would like to honor Cadence’s memory, you can become an organ donor or contribute to your local animal shelter or other neighborhood charity. Cadence would want the world she left behind to be a kinder, better place for everyone still here.

Cadence is survived by her loving boyfriend Patrick Stowe of Steamboat Springs, Colorado, her mother Ally Pittman, brother Chase Torrez, his girlfriend Hunter Calantoc, and nephew Jax of Nederland, Colorado, her brother Bodie Tilton and his wife Stephanie of Lindale, Texas, her Nana and Papa (Nancy and John Pittman) of League City, Texas, her aunt Tammy and uncle Joe Rozenboom, cousins Amanda, Joshua, and October Rozenboom of Fort Worth, Texas, her father Jon Tilton, his wife Ashley, and her Bama (JoAnn Tilton) of Shreveport, Louisiana.
