Anne Rogers David was born November 21, 1957 in Seattle, WA to Morton M. David and Mary K. David. She grew up in Seattle, and also lived in Nancy and Paris, France, Watford, England, and Boumerdes, Algeria. She attended North Seattle Community College and studied Arabic at the University of Washington. She then moved to Indianapolis,IN, and subsequently to Eldora, Colorado. Anne worked at various local Nederland businesses including the Qwik Mart, was the first woman snowmaker at Eldora Ski area, cooked at Neopolitan’s and The Place Upstairs, and worked at Nederland Veterinary Clinic. She later returned to school and earned a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at Colorado State University in 1992. Over the years she held many volunteer positions including rehabilitating orphaned raccoons for Greenwood Wildlife Rehabilitation Center, volunteering at the Backdoor Theater and the Nederland Fire Department. She was a lover of nature, riding her beloved horses Curls and Buddy over mountain trails and hiking with all her dogs. She was an avid gardener and also loved to curl up with a good book. She is survived by her brother, Harry Lane David, sister Elisabeth David, and nephews, Santiago and Emilio David.
A memorial service will be held December 31, 2011 at 1:00 pm at Calvary Chapel, Nederland, Colorado. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Boulder Valley Humane Society and Big Dogs Huge Paws, Inc.
