         I’m so saddened to hear of Alex’s passing. I do remember playing guitar hero with Alex and you kids and I was terrible! There was a beautiful innocence and sweetness about Alex and all of you. That was surely passed on to you by the kindness and delight of your parents, and by God’s most gracious love which is the headwaters of all we count as good and life-giving in this one precious life journey we make. I join you in holding Alex up as God’s gift to this crazy world, something we never forget and by which we are forever changed. PM

We were devastated to hear the news of Alex passing.  I count myself fortunate to have met him this summer at the Wibby event in Longmont. I was impressed by his energy and enthusiasm. As you grieve, know that you are held in our hearts.

The entire  John Young family of Atlanta is deeply saddened to learn that Alex has passed on so soon in his young life.  Unfortunately for us, time and distance have been the limiting factors to be close enough to see and watch Alex grow up and become the man that everyone knew and loved so much.  

He will be missed by all and he leaves a vacant spot in our family tree.  However, Alex’s memory will live within us forever.








I’ve known Alex since he was 3 or 4 years old. We moved to the same street in 2000. I babysat him and Harrison and Elsa for what seemed like a decade. I remember the day his parents brought Elsa home from the hospital and Bridget let me hold her. Their family was complete with their 3rd child. 
I am devastated for the Young family and my heart aches for them. Alex was a child of God and a wonderful young man of strong faith and values.
I moved to Boulder, Colorado in 2012 and Alex reached out to me shortly after when they moved there. We’ve kept in touch over the years from time to time via social media. 
I wish it was 2003 and we were having popsicles on Caribe Ct. on the front steps without a care in the world. This still doesn’t feel real. 
To his loving family, Alex is climbing the biggest mountains in heaven and will be looking down on all of you as the proudest son and brother. You gave him the best childhood and raised him how any young man would aspire to be. My prayers are with you and he will never be forgotten. Thank you for allowing me a space to write these thoughts. We love you Alex. 

Alex - Oh, how I will miss you! You kept me on my toes, and the times we shared together were like "home" to me. I will miss your smile, your curiosity, your insight and enjoying Dairy Queen Dilly Bars with you, Harrison and Elsa. That was OUR special adventure together!

Alex watched my kids--Adam and Anya, and was "one" of their favorite babysitters.  Harrison Young was their other favorite.  The Young boys were amazing with my kids.  And, our family talked a lot about how they epitomized quality boys with fun, ethics, caring, accomplishment and faith.  I used Alex and Harrison as examples many times with Adam and Anya, because they were so perfect to "look up to".  We cherish the times with Alex--all the fun and great role-modeling!  Harrison was the same.  Thank you Young Family.  I don't know if you realize how much impact Alex (and Harrison) had on our kiddos.  Sending so much love.  This is such a hard hard loss.  

Alex, was joyful, bright and when he left the room you couldn't help but smile. I'm very sad for the family as he will be missed by many. I hope Alex knows how much everyone will miss him. 

Alex had the most contagious and amazing smile. He will always have a peice of my heart ❤️ 

Alex was an intern with RA Nelson in the summer of 2019.  We enjoyed his free spirit and positive attitude.  The RA Nelson team is very sorry to hear about this loss.

To the Young‘s, Dan and I send our deepest and most profound sympathies to the family. I remember the wonderful times Ben and Alex had at our cabin, playing golf, hanging out, and just being good friends. He was a wonderful, wonderful friend to Ben. I also like to think of Alex and his huge smile. He helped me do the dishes at the cabin when the other boys were down playing games. I never met a more thoughtful person. Dan and I send our love as well as Ben, Jake, and Emma.   The Madden’s 😢🙏

I remember when the Young’s moved to Indian Peaks. Mason Noteboom and I were Alex and Harrison’s ages and the four of us hung out for the whole summer. We would ride our bikes around the neighborhood and to the YMCA. We would also sneak onto the neighborhood golf course at night and run around on it. I will always remember Alex and his kind-hearted spirit. I can’t believe he’s gone and I’m sending love to the family. 

I met Alex at a camp called Woodleaf. It was a week long camp and having a blast with new friends from all over. After Woodleaf, I made it a mission to see my new friends again. So I did that very year. 2012, I flew up to Colorado, where I ended up bringing some island treats to you bro. We went to a young life club that night and ate out at one of the burger spots with Dusty. And on top of that, we got a ticket with your dad that night too! We still joke about that every time we talked. Can’t believe you’re gone my brother. I will miss your laughs, jokes, and smile. Love you bro!
