October 31, 1947 – April 12, 2025
Bonnie Jane Schneider, of Bothell, Washington, passed away peacefully on April 12, 2025, at the age of 77, surrounded by the love of her children, after a brief yet courageous battle with cancer.
Born on Halloween in 1947 in Vancouver, Washington, Bonnie was a woman of remarkable energy, strength, and creativity. Her vibrant spirit and deep love for her family shaped the many chapters of her life.
Her journey carried her across the United States and abroad—through Washington, California, Nebraska, Germany, Minnesota, and Wisconsin. In each place, Bonnie welcomed new experiences, nurtured her children, and faced life’s challenges with resilience. In later years, she discovered peace and purpose in her faith, which grew ever stronger, and in her work at Chateau Ste. Michelle in Woodinville, WA, where she built lasting friendships.
Bonnie; mother of Jessica Hockstedler and Luke Schneider (Shannon), and grandmother to Abigail, Quinn, Ellery, and Arden. She is also survived by her brother, Tim Kemmett (Lynn). Her final years brought healing and togetherness within the family. Surrounded by love, she experienced comfort and happiness in the time she spent with her children and grandchildren—treasures that will be remembered always.
She cherished her grandchildren deeply. With Abigail and Quinn, she reveled in the delights of their early years, and with Ellery and Arden, she took joy in reciting poems together, laughter, and mutual admiration.
Bonnie’s artistic talent was extraordinary. Her home displayed her gift for capturing beauty through oil painting, and her artwork endures as a legacy of her creativity and vision.
Equally meaningful in her life were her neighbors, who became like family. Doug and Cindy, Lizzie and her family, Maggie, and Chitrangda were lifelines. Their care, companionship, and love filled Bonnie’s days with care and delight.
The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the caregivers who made Bonnie’s final months ones of peace and dignity: Cindy and Vanessa from Visiting Angels, whose laughter and kindness brightened her days; and Monica, Mariana, Lynn, Vasi, Angela, and the compassionate team at TopHill Home Care, whose devotion provided strength and reassurance throughout her final journey.
A woman of wit, warmth, and boundless imagination, Bonnie embraced life fully. Whether painting, tending her gardens, baking or gathering with wine and friends, she brought a spark of joy wherever she went. She lived with a deep love of her country, a steadfast devotion to her faith, and a spirit that uplifted those around her.
Bonnie’s legacy of love, creativity, and faith will continue in the hearts of all who knew her. Though cancer claimed her life too soon, the healing she fostered within her family and the love she gave will never be forgotten.
Private interment will be held at a later date.
