Born in Swatau, China in the Guangdong Province on June 2nd 1938, William was a beloved husband, father, brother-in-law and grandfather. He was known for his selflessness. Always thinking of others before himself. His smile would light up a room and he assured everyone was laughing whenever he was around. He emigrated to the U.S. in the 1970’s in search of a better life. He landed in Boston where he eventually became a waiter at a Chinese restaurant in Boston. His charisma led him to draw the attention of the owner's daughter who would eventually become his wife.
Throughout his life, he had many jobs that brought his kind demeanor to the forefront of everyone’s attention. His proudest moment was buying his home in Allston with his wife and raising his two boys to be men. He invested his free time with his family with memorable trips to the park and the movies.
During his golden years, William enjoyed running into long lost friends from the restaurant industry while buying groceries or grabbing a bite in Chinatown. Even after decades of not seeing these people, William’s personality was easily recognizable and surely memorable.
William is survived by his wife Kathleen, his sons William Jr. and Kenneth, daughter-in-law Mabel, two grandchildren Isaac and Marcus along with loving in-laws.
A funeral service will be held on December 23rd, 2024 at 11:30am at J.S. Waterman Langone Chapel in Boston at 580 Commercial St.
