Stella is survived by a loving family including her husband Gerard Fong, and her children Christopher and Jessica, son-in-law Steven, and granddaughter Lana. Her surviving siblings are Anita (Siu), Nelson (Lillian), David (Carol), Norman (Wendy), and Hung (Sarah). She is preceded in death by her older sister Carmen (Jack).
Stella was born on February 20, 1950 in Taishan, Guangdong, China to Kin Chau Moy and So Lan Kong Moy. In 1962, she moved to the U.S. from Hong Kong. She graduated from Bentley College in 1975 with a degree in Accounting, and then Northeastern University with a Master's in Public Administration.
She and Gerard were together for over 55 years. Her children Christopher and Jessica remember her as a loving, fun mother who encouraged them with a joy of travel, reading, and family.
Stella was passionate about education and worked as a teaching paraprofessional at Josiah Quincy School for 20 years. She was a generous individual who loved crafting, knitting and was skilled at cooking. She was an active and devout member of the Boston Chinese Evangelical Church. She will be fondly remembered as a proud grandmother and feisty, kind friend who made people laugh even in her final days.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2024. Visiting hours will be from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m at J.S. Waterman Langone Chapel, 580 Commercial St, Boston, Massachusetts 02109. Words and eulogy will be shared from 11 a.m.-11.30 a.m. and she will be laid to rest at Newton Cemetery and Arboretum at 791 Walnut St. Newton Centre, MA. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Stella's life.
