Rose Wai Cheng Chan, age 71, passed away peacefully surrounded by family and returned to our Lord on Friday, November 4, 2022. Rose is survived by her husband Antonio, her three children - Linda, Philip and Louis, her son-in-law – Sean, her granddaughters - Haley and Kylie, her four siblings - Sau Ying, Siu Har, Alice, Wayne, and many nieces and nephews.
Born in Burma during a tumultuous time, Rose made her way to Macau working to support her family and then to Hong Kong where she got married. In 1978, chasing the American dream, she immigrated to the US and found work as a seamstress, enduring the challenges of a new country, working long hours to support her family and saving money toward her children’s education. When her children were moving on to college, she started working in dining services at Boston College and enjoyed interacting with staff, faculty and students for 20+ years. She was a loving and dedicated wife, mother and grandmother with a passion for cooking, dancing and tai chi/Qigong. She enjoyed spending time with her granddaughters, had a great sense of humor and could always make you smile.
