A funeral service for Kai will be held Saturday, December 17, 2022 from 9am to 11am at J.S. Waterman Langone Chapel, 580 Commercial St, Boston, MA 02109. Following the funeral service will be a burial at Newton Cemetery, 791 Walnut St., Newton Centre, MA.
爸爸陳啟昌先生生於一九三五年十二月十九日於廣東省台山縣秀墩沙坦市大寧村,於二零二二年十二月九日在醫院睡夢中與世長辭,享年九十又一歲。
樹欲靜而風不息,子欲孝而親不在。12月9號爸爸走完佢91年嘅人生歷程,永遠離開了我們。今天,我們懷着萬分悲痛的心情在這裏舉行告別儀式,寄托我們的喪思。首先我代表我們全家向今天參加爸爸追悼會的各位來賓。各位親朋好友表示摰誠的謝意,感謝你們在百忙之中、從千里之外,來到這裏和我們一起和爸爸作最後的告別。感謝你們與我們共同分擔傷悲,送老人最後一程。在爸爸最後在醫院的期間,承蒙親朋好友的關懷,多次探望慰問。作為家屬我們心存感激,在這裏,我們還要感謝各位親朋好友在治喪期間給予的大力幫助。在此我們對大家的關心和慰問再一次表示由衷的感謝。
91年的人生旅程歸宿圓滿,無憾而別,爸爸走得平靜而安詳,帶着親人的不捨和祝福,帶走了我們童年的笑與淚,留給我們無盡的思念。
爸爸一生勤勞愛家,儉樸善良,正直善待他人。移民美國前我們一家在香港生活過一段艱苦嘅日子,爸爸很努力工作,憑一己之力養活一家八口。於1981年12月14日全家移民到美国; 初到美國,人生路不熟,語言不通,生活仍然艱苦,非常非常感恩得到大姑伍陳惠琴女士 大姑丈伍顯禮先生的無私幫助, 才能度過難關 。所幸六個子女逐漸懂性成長, 有好的工作和完滿的家庭, 兒孫滿堂, 離世前有十四個孫和一個曾孫, 四代同堂,雖不是大富大貴但已很滿足。
爸爸,你安息吧!你將永遠活在我們心裏,我們不會辜負你的期望,今後更好的照顧媽媽,使她健康長壽,我們會孝敬長輩,團結和睦。
最後,再次感謝今天到來為我爸爸送行的親朋好友,謝謝大家。
Kai Chung Chin, age 86, passed away peacefully with his wife of 60 years by his side on Friday, December 9, 2022. He is survived by his 6 children, 14 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild.
Father of Anita Chin Lee, Sandy Chin, Elaine Chin, Jenny Chin Wan, Brian Chin, and David Chin. Father-in-law of Gordon Wan and Carnation Ho Chin. Grandfather of Judy Lee, Angela Lee, Belinda Lee, Chris Lee, Daria Lee, Jonathan Lei, Melinda Lei, Megan Wan, Madison Wan, Melanie Wan, Kenneth Chin, Kevin Chin, Tiffany Chin, and Richard Chin. Grandfather-in-law of Angela Lee Lei. Great grandfather of Amelia Lei.
He was born in Taishan, China, and immigrated to the U.S. in 1981 with his family where he put down roots Newton, Massachusetts. Kai had a successful career as a Chef for 30 years. After retiring, he continued to cook and showed his love through food. When he was not in the kitchen, he enjoyed playing mahjong and immersed himself in C-dramas.
He will be remembered as a selfless person and always putting others before himself. He was a great husband as well as an amazing father that supported the entire family and looked out for his children’s best interest.
May he rest in peace.
