Gilda (Indiciani) Trombetta, 93 years of age, of Boston's North End, passed away on Wednesday, September 18th, 2024. She was born on April 21, 1931, in Pettorano sul Gizio, Italy, and moved to the United States in 1968 with her family. She was the cherished daughter of the late Rosa (DiMascio) and Andrea Indiciani, and the devoted wife of the late Pietro Trombetta, to whom she enjoyed 58 years of marriage. Gilda was the beloved sister of the late Maria (Indiciani) Verrocchi and her late husband, Raffaele, of Medford; Irma (Indiciani) DiMascio and her late husband, Giovanni, of Medford; and Nino Indiciani and his wife, Adele, of Reading. She was also the adored and loving Zia to many nieces and nephews. In addition, she is survived by many cousins and relatives, both in the United States and abroad. Gilda will forever be remembered for her lively spirit and witty sense of humor, her love of a good meal, her collection of fashionable dresses, and of course, for how happy babies and puppies made her. Her memory will live on in all those whose lives she touched, and she will be greatly missed.
A visitation for Gilda will be held on Sunday, September 29, 2024, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at J.S. Waterman Langone Chapel, 580 Commercial St, Boston, Massachusetts 02109. COMPLIMENTARY VALET PARKING ATTENDANTS AT THE FRONT DOOR.
To join the procession to the church, arrive at the funeral home by 9 a.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday, September 30, 2024, at 10 AM at St. Leonard Church, 320 Hanover Street, Boston, MA 02113. Gilda will be laid to rest in Holy Cross Cemetery, 175 Broadway, Malden. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Gilda's memory may be made to St. Leonard Church, 320 Hanover Street, Boston, MA 02113.
