Robyn Sue Sams, age 64, passed away Thursday, March 13, 2025 from ovarian cancer at her home in Boonville, MO with family and friends at her side. To celebrate her life, friends are invited to gather, along with her family, on Friday, March 28, 2025, at the William Wood Funeral Home located at 517 4th Street in Boonville. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM to noon with a brief memorial service beginning at noon. All are welcome and invited to participate by reading a poem, note, or personal story speaking about Robyn during the service. Following, a picnic-style celebration will be hosted in Harley Park in Boonville. Her ashes, along with her beloved son, R. Stephen Sams’ ashes will be placed together in Memorial Park Cemetery the following day at 11:00 AM Saturday, March 29th.
Robyn was born, November 11, 1960, in the Moberly Hospital to Frank A. H. Stangohr and Betty (Ragsdale) Davis while the family lived in Paris, MO. As a young girl, her family moved to Fulton where she spent her youth. She was a 1979 graduate of Fulton High School. After high school she attended MACC where she became an LPN working for the Harry S. Truman VA Hospital in Columbia. Shortly after that, she completed her associate’s degree in nursing (RN) from Central Methodist College in Fayette on a VA scholarship and continued her 33-year career at the VA hospital. Outside of work Robyn enjoyed spending time with friends and family, camping, antiquing, history, reading and traveling. She also loved horses and her special Missouri Fox Trotter (Sunny). She was a member of the local Boonville saddle club.
She is survived by her son, Ryan W. Sams of Boonville; sisters, Donna Stangohr Clinton of Columbia and Tina (Donnie) Richmond of Moberly; her grandchildren, Nina and Bryce Sams; many nieces and nephews, and a loving extended family. She was preceded in death a year ago by her son, R. Stephen Sams; her brother, William Davidson; her older sister, Carol Fanning, and her parents and stepfather (Reggie Davis).
