Harold Wayne Hill, age 78, of Washington Missouri passed away Saturday July 31, 2021. A memorial service will be held at Nelson Memorial United Methodist Church on Saturday, August 28, 2021 at 1:00 pm. Graveside burial service will follow at Walnut Grove Cemetery, along with a memorial dinner after at Nelson Memorial United Methodist Church.
Harold was born on June 19, 1943 in Boonville, Missouri. He grew up in Boonville with his parents, Harold and Helen Hill and brother, Stanny Hill. Harold proudly served his country in the United States Military. He then returned home and discovered a love for fishing on the Missouri river, along with many jobs that lead him to his love of working for the newspaper. Harold had a true passion for the newspaper industry, which lead him to being the Circulation Manager for the Washington Missourian.
Harold raised 3 children who he loved very much, Timothy Hill, Cassandra Elder, and Chad Hill. He was a family man who strived to pass on the importance of family, and thanks to him, our family will forever have a strong bond. Harold also had a passion for sports, especially golf, football, shooting pool, and swimming. Harold was a huge fan of the Mizzou Tigers. He attended MU and played on the football team for a short time. He shared his love of sports and swimming not only with his kids, but his grandkids as well.
Harold has many friends he made over the years that would all agree he was definitely a “people person”. Harold worked until the age of 76, and even after he retired, he didn't slow down. He loved to attend the YMCA several times a week. He also traveled often to spend time with his grandkids in Stockton, Missouri.
Harold is preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Helen Hill; brother, Stanny Hill; infant sister, Jane Diane; and daughter in law, Missy Hill.
Harold is survived by his three children, Timothy Hill of Washington, Missouri, Cassandra Elder (husband Flip Elder) of Stockton, Missouri, and Chad Hill (fiance, Brandy Johnston) of Stockton, Missouri; 10 grandchildren, Sebastian Hommes of St. Louis, Missouri, Ryan Hill of Washington, Missouri, Savannah Christian of Edwardsville, Illinois, Kalysta Stieffermann of Springfield, Missouri, Zach Hill of Washington, Missouri, Andru Hommes of Washington, Missouri, Allie Elder of Stockton, Missouri, Evy Elder of Stockton, Missouri, Alexis Hill of Stockton, Missouri, and Zoey Elder of Stockton, Missouri.
