Willie B. “Bill” White, 95, of Booneville, died Monday, October 31, 2011 at the VA Hospital in Jackson. He was born February 8, 1916 to Hosie and Annie Catherine Moore White. He was a member of Booneville First United Methodist Church, WW II Army Air Corp Veteran, 32nd Degree Mason, Shriner, former Post Commander of the local American Legion, and a Silver Beaver with the Boys Scouts. He retired from the US Postal Service as an assistant post master, he was a cattle farmer, and a former teacher at Burton and Osborn schools.
Funeral services will be 10:30 am on Thursday, November 3, 2011 at Booneville First United Methodist Church with Bro. Bobby Hankins officiating. Burial will be in the Booneville Cemetery.
He is survived by one daughter, Judith W. Overall of Booneville; one son, Bill (Paula) White of Madison; five grandchildren, Jeri (Jason) Potts of Booneville, Will White, Sarah Grace White, Rob White, and Mary Madeline White all of Madison.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Helen F. White; two sisters, Ouida Gaddis and Dean Presley; and one brother, Hollis White.
Visitation will be from 5-7 pm on Wednesday, November 2, 2011 at McMillan Funeral Home, and 10:00 am until service time on Thursday at the church.
