Sammy McDougal

Samuel Lee “Sammy” McDougal, 66, passed away Thursday, April 20, 2017, at home. He was born March 28, 1951, to James Riley and Sybil Loretta Cole McDougal. He was a member of Forked Oak Baptist Church. He was an avid NASCAR enthusiast and Kentucky Wildcat fan.

A celebration of life service will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, April 22, 2017, at McMillan Funeral Home with Bro. Gary Kennedy officiating. Burial will be in Pisgah Cemetery.

He is survived by one daughter, Laura (Buzz) Blauvelt; four step-children, Robert (Debra) Edge, Charles Edge, Renea Moore and Debbie (Chris) Stevens; three sisters, Jean Sipes, Shelia Price and Cindy (Tony) Strickland; two brothers, Jimmy (Hilda) McDougal and Tommy (Tammy) McDougal; one grandson, Austin (Fiancée, Kimmie Outhout) Jackson; three granddaughters, Phyllis Blauvelt, Jody South and Jennifer Tisdale; and special friend, Debora (Johnny Mack) Dixon.

He was preceded in death by two wives, Shirley Bridges McDougal and Dorothy Trantham McDougal; one son, Jim McDougal; his parents; one brother, Johnny McDougal; and one granddaughter, Samantha Jackson.

Visitation will Friday from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
