R. H. “Bobby” Burress, Jr., 74, died Friday, April 1, 2011, at Magnolia Regional Health Center in Corinth. He was born in Booneville on September 14, 1936, to R. H. “Bobby” Burress, Sr. and Christine Waters Burress. Bobby graduated from Booneville High School and Stetson University in Florida. He worked with Farm Bureau Insurance and retired from the Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks. Bobby loved fishing, hunting, and more than anything, spending time with his grandchildren..
Memorial services will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, April 3, 2011, at McMillan Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Kerry Powell officiating. Visitation will be 2:00 – 4:00 P.M. on Saturday and 1:00 till service time on Sunday. McMillan Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Deanna Durham Burress; three children, Julie (Jay) Burress Jordan of Columbus, R. H. “Bo” Burress, III and Thomas F. “Tommy” Burress both of Booneville; one brother, William “Pud” (Reba) Burress of Deland, FL; one aunt, Annie Pearl Waters of Booneville; three brothers-in-law, Walt Braudis of Brandon, FL, Tommy (Francis) Durham of Colorado Springs, CO, and George (Peggy) Durham of The Woodlands, TX; eight grandchildren, Davis Jordan, Durham Jordan, Drew Jordan, Robert Burress, Stephen Burress, Mallory Burress (Stutts), Tanner Burress, and Tate Burress..
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister, Barbara Yarborough Braudis..
Honorary pallbearers will be grandchildren.
