Opal Taylor, 77, of New Site, passed away on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at the Hospice Unit of North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. She was born on February 25, 1941 to the late Ted Gentry and Faye Ivey Gentry of Belmont. Opal was a quality inspector at Marietta Manufacturing for most of her working life. She was a member of East Prentiss Baptist Church.
She is survived by her sons, Randy Taylor and Steve (Tina) Taylor both of New Site; two grandchildren, Michael (Katie) Taylor and Lindsey (Blake) Pounds; one great grandchild, Shaylie Pounds; four sisters, Betty (Holley) Tennison of Brandon, Mittee (Billy) Sartain of Belmont, Margie (Lelona) O’Rear of New Site and Dorothy (James) Bailey of New Site.
She is preceded by her parents; her husband, Randle Taylor; brother, Waide Gentry; brother-in-law, Wayne Rosser and nephew, Rev. Tony Tennison.
Visitation will be from 5:00pm – 9:00PM Sunday, January 20, 2019 at McMillan Funeral Home.
A celebration of life will be 2:00pm Monday, January 21, 2019 at McMillan Funeral Home with Tony Crow officiating and Ken Bishop providing the eulogy. Burial will be in East Prentiss Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be the Men of East Prentiss Baptist Church.
