He was a member of the Crossroads United Methodist Church, a retired farmer and carpenter. He loved sports and gardening.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM on Wednesday, September 8, 2010 at McMillan Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jim Hall and Bro. Charles McGill officiating. Burial will be in the Crossroads Cemetery.
He is survived by, one daughter, Janie McCall of Arlington, TN; 4 granddaughters, Sherry (Tommy) Palmer, Kerry (Jimmy) Weatherbee, Lisa (Kenny) Wheeler and Dana (Carey) Michael.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Margaret Geno Padgett; one son, Harrell Padgett, 5 sisters and 3 brothers.
Pallbearers: Franklin Windham, Glen Green, Bobby Goddard, Tommy Palmer, David Brown and Carey Michael.
Visitation will be from 5-8 pm on Tuesday, September 7, 2010 at the funeral home and until service time on Wednesday.
