Michael “Mike” Ray Owens, Sr., 69, passed away Friday, February 16, 2024, at Longwood Community Living Center in Booneville. He was born May 22, 1954, to Leon and Myrtle Owens. He was a U.S. Army veteran, a Mason, and member of the American Legion. He enjoyed working with animals, raising horses and cows, tinkering with small engines, watching TV, rooster fighting, and anything outdoors.
A Celebration of Life with Military Honors will be at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, February 22, 2024, at McMillan Funeral Home with John Hamblin officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from 12:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
He is survived by his wife, Martha Owens; one son, Michael Owens, Jr. (Stephanie); four grandchildren, Katlin, Kadin, Natalynn and Novalee; and one great-grandchild, Kowen.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Billy Owens and Jerry Owens; one sister, Brenda Chapman; and one great-grandchild, Kas Young.
