Pearl Maylene Brown, 86, died Thursday, April 21, 2011, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Booneville. She was born January 3, 1925, in Prentiss County to the late Odus and Pearl Walden Brown. She had been the Lunch Program Manager at New Site High School and also served as a certified nutritionist over 13 headstart programs across 7 counties. She was a member of Little Brown Creek Freewill Baptist Church and had served as a volunteer at Baptist Memorial Hospital. She enjoyed singing at church, cooking and gardening which she shared with her neighbors. Her family was the most important thing in her life.
Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m. Saturday, April 23, 2011 at the McMillan Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Tim Doss and Minister Dwain Brown officiating. Burial will be in the Little Brown Cemetery.
She is survived by two daughters, Elizabeth Nann Bancks (Nick) of Jacksonville, FL, and Rebecca “Becky” Lambert of New Site; four sons, E. Trenton Brown, Jr. (Brenda) of Eatonton, GA, Carroll T. Brown (Jean Ann) of High Point, NC, Nathan O. Brown (Juanita) of New Site, and Daniel Wyatt Brown (Lyn) of Eatonton, GA; two sisters, Virginia Penna (Wilma) of Memphis, and Beverly Taylor of Russellville, Alabama; three brothers, Johnny W. Browne, Ewell Brown (Hazel), and Vance Brown (Louise), all of Booneville; two sisters-in-law, Eula Brown and Eva Nell Brown, both of Booneville; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter-in-law, Pamela J. Brown; two brothers, Leamon and Edwin Brown; brother-in-law, Bobby Taylor; grandson, Sgt. Jonathan Lambert; granddaughter, Ashley Shannon Brown.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons and great-grandsons.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Little Brown Creek Freewill Baptist Church, 151 CR 3280, Booneville, Ms 38829.
