May Ella Parks

May “Bess” Parks, 87, of Dry Creek, died Sunday, February 27, 2011, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Booneville. She was a member of Pauls Chapel Methodist Church and a retired employee of Prentiss Manufacturing and Aletha Lodge Nursing Home.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM on Tuesday, March 1, 2011 at McMillan Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Buddy Rushing and Bro. Rex Bullock officiating. Burial will be in Jumpertown Cemetery.

She is survived by one son, Gale Parks of Dry Creek; three sisters, Sue Mauney of Dry Creek, Loretta (Jodie) Criswell of Corinth, and Catherine (William) Yates of Dry Creek; one brother, Johnnie (Doris) Jumper of Ripley; two grandchildren, Johnny (Daphne) Parks of Dry Creek and Angela (Frank) Ilsley of Counce, TN; one great grandson, Austin Parks and daughter-in-law, Debbie Parks of Dry Creek.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Ira Parks; her parents; one son, Carol Parks; two sisters, Pat Thompson and Annie Jumper; five brothers, Melvin, Cullen, Lester, Edward, and Donald Jumper; and one brother-in-law, Emmitt Mauney.

Visitation will be from 5-9 pm on Monday, February 28, 2011 and until service time on Tuesday at the funeral home.
