Maxine (Strange) Burnett Leatherwood born March 11, 1927 laid at final rest on August 21, 2019. She loved her community, Rienzi, in which she lived her entire life. She went to Rienzi school & taught there for many years. She enjoyed yard work of all types, cooking, canning, sewing & quilting. She was loved by all who knew her, known as Mamacine by her most beloved.
A Celebration of Life service will be at 3:00 P.M. Friday, August 23, 2019, at McMillian Funeral Home with Bro. Charlie Cooper officiating. Burial will be in Rienzi Cemetery.
Survived by: son Bill Burnett of Rienzi; Grandchildren Karen Burnett Jenkins/ Paul, of Olive Branch; Natasha Burnett Sanders/ BJ, of Corinth; and Billy Burnett/ Christi of Rienzi. Great-grandchildren Emma Jenkins, Kaleigh, Kaden, Chloe, Cole Sanders, Anna Claire, Noah, Leah, Zeke Burnett; step great grandchildren Emmalee, Emberlyn, Ezechiel Hite. Multitude of nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by: parents Sam Ed & Ellen Strange. LE Bully Burnett, husband of 50 years with whom she has three sons, married second Husband, James Leatherwood, in 2007 and sons, Wayne Burnett and Bob Burnett.
Pallbearers are Paul Jenkins, BJ Sanders , Billy Burnett, Jerry Cox, Danny Phillips, and Chad Potts.
Visitation will be Friday August 23 from 12:00 P.M. until 3:00 P.M.at the funeral home.
