Mary Louise Estes Pannell passed away on Sunday, November 12, 2023 at her home. She was born August 2, 1937 to Sherman and Irene Estes. She married her sweetheart, Marion Lovert Pannell on November 20, 1949 at the tender age of 13. Together they had four children Bobby Lynn (Peggy), Gary Lee, Rena’ and Sharon Kay (Tim). She was a hard worker who spent many long hours at Brown Shoe, Blue Bell, and the Wagon Wheel. She cared for her husband, her children and grandchildren and managed the household while always having a big garden and canned and preserved her harvest, and kept her home spotless. She enjoyed her family and friends, pretty flowers, the outdoors and especially sitting on her porch swing. She loved NASCAR and spent many Saturday nights at the dirt tracks. She was an excellent marksman and could shoot crab apples off the tree in the back yard.
She was the living example of a Proverbs 31 woman. Every Sunday and Wednesday night she got her children and grandchildren ready and loaded them on an old church bus. She stopped and picked up every child between Jumpertown and Blackland and carried them all to worship. She was a faithful member of the Jumpertown Church of Christ.
A celebration of life will be at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, November 15, 2023 at McMillan Funeral Home with Bro. Terry Roberts and Bro. Randy Estes officiating. Burial will be in the Jumpertown Church of Christ Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. until 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 44 years Lovert (Burt) Pannell who has been waiting at the riverside for her for thirty years; two sons, Bobby Lynn Pannell and Gary Lee Pannell; two great-grandchildren, Alex Bray and her namesake Sadie Louise Fitzgerald; a sister Marie Brumley and a brother, J.C. Estes.
She leaves behind two daughters, Rena’ Newcomb of the home and Sharon Pannell of Kossuth; two brothers, Kenny Estes (Pam) and Randy Estes (Carolyn); a very special daughter-in-law, Peggy Pannell and son-in-law, Tim Fitzgerald; ten grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren; ten great-great grandchildren and one on the way; Host of nieces and nephews; and her faithful companion Rosie.
