Marie Sweeney

Marie Brawner Sweeney, 93, passed away Sunday, April 9, 2017, at the Mississippi Care Center in Corinth. She was born January 18, 1924, to John Sidney and Elizabeth Bonds Bawner. She was a member of Antioch Baptist Church. She was the Librarian for the Jumpertown schools. She enjoyed cooking and baking.

A celebration of life service will be 1:00 P.M. Saturday, April 15, 2017, at McMillan Funeral Home with Bro. David George and Dr. Bruce Ingram officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Memorial Park.

She is survived by two daughters, Joyce (Richard) Luther and Darlene (Bruce) Ingram; two sons, Bob (Carolyn Hamlin) Sweeney and John (Debbie) Sweeney; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Walker Reed Sweeney in 2008; her parents; five sisters; 6 brothers; one grandson.

Visitation will Saturday from 11:00 A.M. until 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
