Marie Hill Downs

Marie Hill Downs, 89, of Booneville passed away Monday, February 16, 2015 at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. She was born June 23, 1925 to Homer and Millie Culp Hill. She was a retired seamstress and homemaker. She was a member of Crestwood Baptist Church and she enjoyed fishing, camping, gardening, crocheting and quilting.

A celebration of life service will be at 1:00 PM Wednesday, February 18, 2015 at McMillan Funeral Home with Bro. Jackie Spencer and Bro. Jerry Mitchell officiating. Burial will be in the East Prentiss Cemetery.

She is survived by one son, Benny Ray (Carolyn) Downs of Booneville; one daughter-in-law, Judy Downs of Booneville; one sister, Ruby Jury of New Site; five grandchildren, Wendy (Chuck) Hammock, Benjie (Lisa) Downs, Cindy (Tommy) Pratt, Bradley Ray Downs, and Denjie Downs (Deanne Ashley); and nine great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clinton Ray “CR” Downs; one son, Jimmy Ray Downs; one sister, Francis Johnson; and two brothers, J V Hill and Edward Hill.

Pallbearers will be Johnny Johnson, Randy Hill, James Downs, Benjie Downs, Denjie Downs, and Bradley Downs.

Visitation will be 5-8pm Tuesday, February 17, 2015 and until service time on Wednesday at McMillan Funeral Home.
