Joe Ellis Gann, 79, of Booneville passed away on Thursday, October 26, 2023 at the Tishomingo Manor in Iuka, MS. He was a member of the Mt. Pisgah Free Will Baptist Church where he served as a deacon for 43 years. Joe was a retired machine operator with Caterpillar for 24 years and was a New Site High School Graduate where he played on the basketball team. He sang gospel music for over 50 years and was a longtime member of the Masters Quartet. He loved Squirrel hunting, gardening especially growing tomatoes, basketball which he was an avid Royal fan and loved spending time with family especially his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, October 28, 2023 at McMillan Funeral Home with Bro. Jack Whitley and Bro. Glenn Jones officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Pisgah Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. on Friday, October 27, 2023 and until service time on Saturday at the funeral home.
He is survived by two daughters, Missy Lambert (Keith) and Laura Warren; his grandchildren, Josh Lambert (Brook), Rusty Lambert (Tiffany), Dylan Warren and Justin Warren; his great grandchildren, Ashlyn Tabor, Saylor Diley, Zack Lambert and Navye Lambert: and his nieces, Lana Nix (Cliff) and Jana Johnson (Clay).
He is preceded in death by his parents, Willie Hugh and Floyal Johnson Gann; his wife of 45 years, Esta Lee Murphy Gann; and his sister, Lavita Harris.
Pallbearers will be, his grandsons, his grandchildren, Scotty Moore, Ricky Johnson, Randy Walden and Nathan Harrison.
Honorary pallbearers will be Sherron Barron and Cuthen Cagle.
In lieu of flowers donation may be made to the Mt. Pisgah Free Will Baptist Cemetery Fund.
