Dorothy Pannell

Dorothy Lorene Hollis Pannell, 83, passed away Tuesday, January 17, 2017, at her home. She was born August 31, 1933, in Houlka to William and Fannie Taylor Hollis. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Jumpertown. She was a seamstress in the furniture industry. She enjoyed gardening, working in her flower beds and spending time with her family. She loved her Friday morning trips to the Salvation Army Store.

A Celebration of Life will be 1:00 P.M. Saturday, January 21, 2017, at McMillan Funeral Home with Bro. Terry Scott and Bro. Scotty Downs officiating. Burial will be in Payne’s Chapel Cemetery.

She is survived by two daughters, Patsy (Danny) Williams of New Site and Nancy Pannell of Jumpertown; two sons, Gary (Rhonda) Pannell of Jumpertown and Jeffrey (Tonya) Pannell of Booneville; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Billy Wayne Pannell; her parents; three sisters; five brothers; and one great-great-granddaughter.

Pallbearers are Rusty Williams, Wesley Williams, Michael Pannell, Lamont Bullock, Eddie Ray Morrow and Larry Johnson.

Visitation will be Friday from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
