Charles Kern Parker, 85, passed away Tuesday, December 8, 2015 at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. He was born September 17, 1930, to Kern and Gracie Russell Parker. He was a member of West Jackson Baptist Church in Tupelo. He worked for Hassell’s until his retirement, then went back to work at the Clarion Inn until his passing. He enjoyed playing the guitar, dancing and fishing.
Celebration of Life at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, December 10, 2015 at McMillan Funeral Home with Bro. Marty Roberts and Bro. Chuck Boxx officiating. Burial will be in Friendship Cemetery.
He is survived by one daughter, Gwen (Earl) Wheelington of Booneville; five grandchildren, Stephanie (Rusty) Whitaker, Pam (Ryan) Warrington, Christy (Lee) Burrow, Georgia (Paul Daniel) Grooms and Chuck (Jodie) Boxx; 10 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Mildred Moreland.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary D. Parker; one son, Charles Kenneth Parker; his parents; one sister, Teresa Swinney; and three brothers, Bobby, Mack and Howard Parker.
Pallbearers are Chuck Boxx, Rusty Whitaker, Paul Daniel Grooms, Ryan Warrington, Lee Burrow, Mark Stone, Frankie Burrow and Jesse Burrow.
Honorary pallbearers are Sam Warrington, Wyatt Boxx and Levi Rayburn.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00P.M. at the funeral home.
