Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.HodgesCelebratesLife.com for the Weaver family.
Grace Mozelle Cutright Weaver of Fort Myers, Florida, wife of Gerald Wendell Weaver, passed into life eternal on January 31, 2023, at the age of 83 years. Grace was born to John and Ruth Cutright on March 14, 1939, in a log house out in the country near Chillicothe, Ohio.
Grace’s family will carry her love in their hearts for the rest of their days. Grace is survived by her daughter, Joy Lee Weaver Rockwell, and her granddaughter, Sara Mozelle Rockwell, both of Fort Myers, Florida; as well as her daughter, Bonnie Weaver-Miller (Brent Miller), of Upper Arlington, Ohio, along with her granddaughter, Grace Elizabeth Miller Smeenk (Nicholas Smeenk) and their children, Charlotte and Jasper, of Upper Arlington, Ohio; her grandson, Chase Weaver Miller (Megan Tackett Miller) and their children Brent and Anna, of Columbus, Ohio; their granddaughter, Adeline Marie Miller (fiancé Shane Smith), of Mountain View, California; their grandson, John Willliam Miller, of Columbus, Ohio; and their granddaughter, Megan Elise Miller Adrion (Alexander Adrion), of Naples, Florida.
Grace was born in 1939, in a log house out in the country near Chillicothe, Ohio. She was the ninth of eleven children. Grace was preceded in death by her parents, John and Ruth (Botkin) Cutright, of Chillicothe, Ohio, as well as her siblings, James Cutright, Mildred Houck, Beatrice Dingman, Elizabeth Schrake, Joanne Mathers, Francis Drummond, and Robert Cutright, Sr. She is survived by her siblings, John Cutright Jr., Carole Haines, and Mary “Tiny” Workman.
As a teenager, Grace attended Tabernacle Baptist Church, where she began her relationship with Jesus, which was her foundation and strength for her entire life. It was at this church that she also found the love of her life, Gerald Wendell Weaver. Grace and Gerry married in 1957 and quickly had their two daughters, Joy and Bonnie.
Grace followed Gerald where the Navy took them, to homes in Key West, Florida, and Charleston, South Carolina. They returned home to Chillicothe, Ohio, where Grace began a career in cosmetology. She owned and managed several beauty salons, all named The Lorelei, gathering many clients and friends along the way. Grace continued to do hair for the rest of her life.
Together with her husband and daughters, Grace experienced all life had to offer. From taking motorcycle trips to waterskiing on Lake White, the Weaver family spent time building memories that last.
In 1979, Grace and Gerry “retired” to Fort Myers, Florida. They lived on their boat for the first year, as they built the house of their dreams. During these years, Grace and Gerry stayed active by breathing life back into run-down motels and traveling up and down the Atlantic seaboard; their final venture led them to a mobile home park in Sebring, Florida. After selling Sebring, Grace and Gerry spent years leisurely traveling the nation in their RV.
Grace enjoyed cooking, singing in the church choir, and attending Bible study, as well as spending time with her beloved family. God has been a constant companion to Grace. As she often said, “I talk to Him all the time.”
As a beautiful butterfly struggles to be free of the confines of the cocoon, Grace has broken free of the confines of this human life, and is flying free, joining her husband in heaven, bathed in the light of her Savior, Jesus Christ.
