This is late coming because Jenny and myself just found out,I hope this message is well received. My name is Terry James and I consider it a great honor to have known,worked with and van pooled with Mr. Wallace as I called him he and his lovely wife Betty were very gracious to my family and I'm forever grateful. My sincere condolences to his entire family and to his son.Rest in Marine core heaven Wally.Thanks Terry James

Wally was there for Betty, Joey and Trudy and Jentz. He was there for me and my family. He helped me move, we went to each others kids graduations. Most of all he and Betty loved us unconditionally. They welcomed us with open arms. Wally worked with the Boys and Girls Club and fed the community at Thanksgiving time. Many times he was so tired but then came back to his house to cook for all of us for Thanksgiving dinner. He volunteered for the Sand Castle Days in IB, the Chili Cook off. They helped start a skate rink park for the kids. They loved their grandkids so much. Loved to spoil them . Not only did he serve his country in the Marines but he also served his country by working at the Naval Base in Coronado for 30 + years. Rest in peace Wally. You deserve to get a long deserved rest from doing good for others. Rest in peace with your sweet Betty. Your friend Mary Hall

Wally and I worked as tool makers.  We played basketball at lunch but he call it beastie ball.  He was a one of a kind guy who would give the shirt off his back if you needed it.  Ill treasure our time playing cards in the back room, having potlucks and his humor.  

We love you Dad! Yes most called you dad. You loved everyone and made us all feel great. I could be sad and call you and then never even remember what I was sad about when our call ended. Lol You brought so much joy to all you came in contact with. You made people so comfortable people felt they had known you forever. See you in Heaven! Please hug mom and Jentz for me. And tell my dad and Uncle I love them. 

The first time we met I came to visit you at your house for your birthday. I was greeted by a series of banters over military service and being the lucky man who had married Kellys best friend Brittany.

I enjoyed that banter as most service members do. Its a bond we share that transcends time and space and has no rules, only brotherhood.

After this I was offered a negra medelo and given a tour of your place. Seeing all the kids and family in the kitchen and in the backyard I was able to distinguish right away how important of a man you were among your family.

I was honored to share in your birthday Wally, thank you for your service to this country, to your family and for those bomb ass salt and pepper wings.

Rest easy brotha.

I met Jentz and Walt back in 1985. I first met Jentz while working at Sea Port Village.  She was very kind and supportive and she was a good friend to me. Walt made the best burgers on the grill and her mother always welcomed me with open arms.
I lost touch with Jentz and 30 years passed when just this week I decided to look for her on Facebook.  I immediately saw her memorial page. A sudden sadness and realization that I was too late in finding her. I'm so sorry Jentz for letting so much time pass between us. I will miss you and your family.  - Victor Mayer

Thank you for being my Dad and Friend. For being the true definition of what a Father is, I feel blessed to have had you, I've learned so many life lessons, recipes  and good stories, We had plans for a Summer Garden and just received our heirloom tomatoes seeds, I cant wait to plant them and make salsa to share with friends. I promise to take care of the people you loved and most importantly been kind to others. I promise to keep this House a Home and make others feel welcomed here, I love you! 

My brother, my Father figure, my good friend. I will miss our lunches together, your famous salads and spaghetti.  Not to mention the BBQ. You will always be in my thoughts. Miss you brother
