Timothy J. Simmons Jr., age 57, of Chula Vista, CA, passed away April 30, 2023 surrounded by the love of his family.
Tim was born on April 24, 1966, in New Haven, CT, to Timothy and Roberta Simmons. He was the oldest of three children. He grew up in Colorado Springs and graduated from Doherty High School. Tim moved to San Diego in 1986 and received a Bachelor's and Master's degree from San Diego State University. He was a dedicated teacher and charter school administrator for 25 years. Tim treasured family above all else. He enjoyed music, reading, golfing, art, and sports especially SDSU Aztecs basketball, Denver Broncos, and the Los Angeles Lakers. Tim is survived by his loving parents, his caring wife, Ana Paula Montes de Oca, his beloved children, Mariana and Eric Simmons, brother Mark (Kellie) Simmons, sister Kim (Carlos) Garcia, nephews and niece, Quinn Moebius, Daniel (Sara) Simmons, and Christian and Coraline Garcia.
