Suzanne was born on April 18th,1964 in Chula Vista, CA, to her loving parents Lawrence Brooks and Frances Oliveri-Brooks. Suzanne grew-up in Chula Vista surrounded by her loving family and friends. She was a graduate of St. Rose of Lima, were she made many life-long friends, and a 1982 graduate of Hilltop High School, but as Suzanne always said her best years were her freshman and sophomore years attending Marian High School.
After graduating high school and always being the hard worker, Suzanne worked at different occupations and also raised her family in West Springfield, Massachusetts. Upon returning home to Chula Vista, CA., Suzanne worked as a Family Service Counselor at Glen Abbey Mortuary, Bonita, CA., helping those in need.
Suzanne enjoyed bringing her joyful spirit to everyone she met and along with her beautiful smile she always made you feel special. Suzanne had that special presence to her that you would never forget once you met her. Suzanne enjoyed a great many activities, always busy and full of life. Suzanne especially enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and also enjoyed all things Disney, especially her magical trips to Disneyland with her loving husband Ern. She also was a great animal lover with her loving pets; her dogs Barkley and Buddy, and her cats, Frank, Minnie and Lily. Suzanne had a great many talents to share, including her healing touch as a Reiki master.
Suzanne was married to Ernest Bertram, Jr., on October, 2, 2010 at St. Rose of Lima Church, Chula Vista, CA. They were the love of each others lives, forever in love for all eternity.
Suzanne was preceding in death by her father, Lawrence Brooks and her mother, Frances Oliveri-Brooks.
Suzanne is survived by her husband, Ernest of Chula Vista, CA.; her daughter, Alannah Brennan of Norwood, MA., her son, Kyle Brennan of San Diego, CA., her brothers and sisters-in-laws; Steven and Lynda Brooks of Fallbrook, CA., Tom and Pam Brooks of Sunland, CA., and Sandi Fujii of Mill Valley, CA.; her mother-in-law and father-in-law; Maria Bertram-Hood and Jim Hood of San Diego, CA.; her nephews, nieces and great nephew: Joe and Diana Brooks of Carlsbad, CA., Bryan and Jenn and Bruce Brooks of Wilsonville, OR.; Vanessa Brooks, Wes Brooks and Amanda Brooks of Sunland, CA., Brennan Bertram and Serika Bertram of Mill Valley CA.
A memorial service mass will be held on Wednesday, August 5th @ 11:00 AM at St. Rose of Lima Church, 293 H St., Chula Vista, CA. Burial services will follow at Glenn Abbey Memorial Park, 3838 Bonita Road, Bonita, CA. As a celebration of Suzanne’s life, please wear something of color (her favorite color was purple).
A visitation and rosary will be held on Tuesday, August 4th, from 5-9 PM, at the Little Chapel of the Roses, Glen Abbey Memorial Park, 3838 Bonita Road, Bonita, CA.
Suzanne will forever be missed but her spirit and love will be with us forever.
