Ruth worked as a book keeper for Alfred M. Lewis food distributors for sixteen years and Rhor Industries for ten years. The last twelve years of her working career were spent at Glen Abbey Mortuary where she helped many families through their tough time.
Ruth was a member of Beta Sigma Phi sorority and a long time recognized distributor for Longaberger Basket Company.
Ruth loved camping, picnics, sporting events, socializing with her many friends, sunsets and walking on the beach. Ruth enjoyed baking and was well known for her “No Bake Cookies”. She was a devoted Padre fan and Charger fan and especially a fan of her children. Ruth had a lovely, angelic smile, with beautiful hazel eyes and could fill a room with joy and a contagious laugh that she shared often.
Ruth is survived by her son, Lance Jordan, daughter, Tina Jordan Cox and son-in-law, Troy Cox. She is also survived by her two sisters, Sue Leake, Janet Bone and three brothers, William Young, Gene Young and Mark Young. Additionally, she is survived by many lifelong friends whose kids were her kids, locally and abroad, most of whom are now adults that still refer to her as “Mom” “Mum” and “Nanners”. Ruth was unselfish with her love, her time, her smile and her easy laughter – she will be missed deeply.
