Ralph Allan Mendoza was known as many things to many people. He was a loved one, a friend, and someone special. To family and friends who knew him best, Allan will be remembered as a very exceptional person.
He was the son of Jose Gil and Gloria Mendoza. Allan grew up in Pomona, Bonita, and Chula Vista California.
He had one older sister, Lorraine, and one younger sister, Cindy. Allan was usually involved in all sorts of activities with his siblings. He and his siblings experienced rivalries typical of a growing family, but they shared many life experiences over the years.
As a young boy, Allan had a number of interests. Like most children, he enjoyed playing and making up games. He was curious about the world around him and was often eager to explore it. In his spare time he liked to climb trees, hang out with friends, and explore the wilderness.
Always considered a “good” friend to those he knew, Allan enjoyed a broad group of acquaintances and several very close friends during his lifetime. Several of Allan's best friends were Jeff Hoffmeyer, Tracy Henchbarger, Annie Rule, and John Collins.
Empathic and loyal, Allan was committed to making his new family happy.
Allan worked hard to be a good father to his children and he did his best to fulfill their needs. Allan was blessed with three children, two daughters, Elizabeth and Erin, and one son, Evan. Another blessing for Allan was the gift of four grandchildren, Olivia, Sophia, Lila, and Dominic.
Fortunately, Allan enjoyed what he did for a living. Showing a strong work ethic, Allan worked diligently and did his best to succeed in his career. His primary occupation was being a Farmers Insurance Agent. He was employed for over 30 years with the company and made numerous achievements including being an Elite Commercial Agent.
Allan also enjoyed watching sports. Tops on his list were the LA Lakers and San Diego Chargers.
Allan enjoyed traveling and time away on vacations. It was a chance for him to renew and relax, to visit new places and experience new things. Favorite vacations included going boating out at the river, going snow skiing, and going to National Parks.
Allan was a lover of animals and cherished his pets. One of his favorites was Argus, an awesome dog, and Pontious, a black cat. They were best friends for 12 years.
Allan passed away on June 7, 2021 at at this home in Chula Vista, with his wife Carol, and daughters Elizabeth and Erin by his side. He is survived by his wife, his daughters, his two sons-in-law, his father Gil, his two sisters Lori and Cindy and four grandchildren.
Simply stated, Allan was a good and kind person, an individual who will for all time be remembered by his family and friends as being a caring and generous person, someone who was a vital part of their lives. Allan leaves behind him a legacy of life-long friendships and many cherished memories. Everyone whose life he touched will always remember Ralph Allan Mendoza.
