Pearl Marie (Campos) McCullough. Born Winters California October 24, 1924 to Arturo and Joaquina Campos. Passed February 6, 2019 at home, surrounded by family at age 94. She grew up in Winters, California with her half-brother and three younger sisters. Graduated from Olive District Elementary school and Winters High School. During World War two she was enrolled in the Cadet Nurse Program at Mount Zion Hospital in San Francisco. She met and married the love of her life, Hubert McCullough an officer in the Merchant Marine Service, in San Francisco, November 19, 1945. After his discharge at the end of the war, they moved to Otay, California to start their life and family together.
Pearl returned to nursing in 1951 working at Chula Vista Hospital and later retired as an LVN from Community Hospital of Chula Vista in April of 1984. In addition to her nursing career, Pearl was involved in several Women’s groups, gardening clubs, was an officer for the local Parent Teacher Association, assisted with the voting process at the local polling station, was active in her church and at various times a parent volunteer in her son’s classrooms.
Pearl was a loving mother and wife, an amazing cook and a flawless housekeeper with boundless energy. At various times she helped raise several nephews, grand daughters and even some neighborhood kids.
She is survived by her three sons (Arthur, Charles and Timothy), four grandsons (Thomas, Michael, Andrew and James) three granddaughters (Tamara, Jamel, and Jessica) and three great grandchildren (Colt, Silas and Tobie) and one beautiful great granddaughter (Nadine).
