Everyone’s life is the sum total of all of the people they have met, the things they have done, the places they have gone. Ofelia Borja Juan was no exception. She was a loved one, a friend, and someone special. To family and friends who knew her best, Ofelia will be remembered as a very exceptional person.
Ofelia’s life journey began on October 20, 1946. She first greeted the world in Binmaley, Pangasinan, Philippines. Her parents' names were Victor A. Borja and Benjamina S. Borja. She was raised in Binmaley with seven siblings, Alex Borja, Belen Martirez, Teresita Eleccion, Arnulfo Borja, Jaime Borja, Cesar Borja (deceased) and Esther Borja (deceased). Throughout the years, Ofelia and her family shared many special life experiences, creating an abundance of fond memories.
Education was an important aspect of Ofelia’s life. She graduated from Binmaley Catholic High School and continued her academic journey by attending college where she would earn her Bachelor of Science degree in Education.
As a younger woman, Ofelia met and fell in love with her sweetheart Felipe Cerezo Juan and the couple exchanged wedding vows on September 2, 1971. The wedding took place at Binmaley Catholic Church in Binmaley, Pangasinan. With empathic and loyal hearts, Ofelia and Felipe shared many loving years of marriage.
While everything a person does in life contributes to who they grow into, it is ultimately this same person who holds the most influence on the next generation. Ofelia was blessed with three children, Beverly, Gladys and Philip. Ofelia worked hard to be a good mother to her children and she did her best to fulfill their needs, raising her children in a positive and nurturing environment.
Later in life, Ofelia was blessed with the joy of three grandchildren.
Ofelia enjoyed her leisure time by taking part in a number of different activities, including cooking, baking, shopping and traveling. She took absolute joy in spending time with her family and was always happy to host family gatherings.
Ofelia Juan left us on September 6, 2011. She passed away in San Diego, California after fighting a brave battle against cancer. She is survived by her loving husband Felipe Juan; children Beverly Guzman, Gladys Juan and Philip Juan; as well as many other family members and friends. A viewing was held at The Little Chapel of the Roses in Bonita on September 11, 2011. A Funeral Service was held on September 24, 2011 in the Philippines. Ofelia was laid to rest at Binmaley Cemetery in Binmaley, Pangasinan, Philippines.
Simply stated, Ofelia was a good and kind person, an individual who will for all time be remembered by her family and friends as being caring and giving, someone who was always willing to take care of others. Ofelia leaves behind her a legacy of lifelong friendships and many cherished memories. Everyone whose life Ofelia Juan touched will always remember her with a smile.
