April 2, 1935 – April 9, 2025
Nilda Lamera Hebron, 90, of San Diego, passed away peacefully on April 9, 2025. Born in Duenas, Iloilo, Philippines, she was the daughter of Anita and Leonardo Cocjin Sr.
Nilda aspired to be a chemical engineer, but her path to America led her to a distinguished nursing career spanning over 30 years, including service at the Mayo Clinic, Toronto General, and Chula Vista Community Hospital.
A graduate of Brookenshire College of Nursing, Class of 1959, she traveled widely before settling in San Diego with her husband, Aniceto Hebron, whom she married in 1964. Together, they raised three sons: Ruel (Grace), Richard (Yvette), and Aniceto Jr. (Milrose). After retirement, Nilda devoted herself to her family, especially her granddaughters, who lovingly called her “Nana.”
She was a founding member of Grace Alliance Church—San Diego, where she served faithfully for over 40 years. Nilda is survived by her husband, children, daughters-in-law, and granddaughters: Sabrina (James), Chloe (Isaiah), Francesca, Hunter, and Aiyanna. She will be remembered for her faith, dedication, and the profound love she shared with her family.
