Marcus it’s been a year…lots of things have happened! One of the biggest is that La Fonda closed !  Your favorite restaurant in Yuma! Great news! They reopened in business with Mr Burrito and we went there today in your honor and memory! It was the same La Fonda thank goodness! We toasted you!  Love & Miss You My Brother  From Another Mother!! Happy Heavenly Birthday Marcus! I hope you had an awesome day and that your Mom made you chicken and dumplings for dinner! Love & Miss You Marcus!  From Kofa High School to working at FedMart together to working at Price Club and then Costco together, we will always be long time friends. Our bond is special and I will miss you forever!  You are such a good man and I hope I told you Thank you enough especially for  sitting with me for hours while Ralph was in surgery! I would have been alone for 6 hours or more.  It scared me that night that you were riding from Escondido to Chula Vista at 10:30 at night!  But you insisted on being by my side!  Always such a good friend to a lot of people!  My heart is sad and I pray for strength for your sister,  your nieces and nephews, your coworkers, and your friends.  Give Bubs a hug for me!  I hope you and Dottie get the chance to golf together again!  God Bless My Friend 

I just heard about Mark from an acquaintance at the dog park. I only know Mark from the dog park with Kona the past few months. He was a very nice man, always checked in with me and my dog. I’m sorry to hear this news. Thoughts and prayers to his friends and family. 

I worked with Mark as a vendor. With all the challenges the food industry faced these past couple years, Mark played an important role in helping us find ways to keep moving the ball down the field.

It was always clear that he wanted the best for his members and that helped us be our best. 

Much respect and gratitude for his patience and support.

I met Mark very early on in my Price Club/Costco vendor career of over 30 years.  Mark was always easy to work with, kind and fair.  I don't think I ever saw him without a smile on his face.  His hard work and dedication to the CMN Golf Tournaments were always so appreciated - what a great cause to be involved in.  

Mark will be missed deeply by the vendor community and thought of with respect, integrity and goodwill.

My deepest condolences to his family and his Costco family and friends.  

Mark was such a great man to work with, always willing to lend a hand or answer a call when you needed him.  It has been a pleasure to have known (and emailed) him for the last 20 plus years! He will be missed! My thoughts, prayers and condolences to all his loved ones and friends.

Mark was such a great guy! He was so helpful spending time with me when trying to get Colorado vendors into Costco. Always a joy to talk to and visit with.   My thoughts and prayers are with the SD buying office and his family. Mark will surely missed here at the warehouse level.

I was at Moreno Blvd for an interview for a General Manager position the Monday of Christmas. I was waiting outside - nervous as I have ever been. Then, I see Mark who I  know through emails and talking on the phone.  He comes over greets me with a smile and asked what I was doing waiting in the lobby. He definitely helped ease my nerves and even took me to get some coffee. He will be missed and I am glad that I had the chance to meet such a man.   My prayers and condolences.   

Dearest Markie … it’s Gretchie … as we fondly called one another ..  I miss you immensely… tho strive to replace my tears with smiles of treasured memories of our early morning conversations.  Chatting & laughing…. about work .. golf .. fur children (sharing Sat in the  office w/Shasta) … pesky spinal issues .. & retirement dreams   
Your friendship will always be a gift.

When I think of Mark, I close my eyes and I see him smile... thank you for all the advice and for always lending an ear.

I had the pleasure of calling on Mark for many years. 
He was one of my first appointments at Costco. I remember him being very helpful and explaining to me how he liked to see things done-he truly gave me a Costco 101!  

I will miss the weekly interactions with Mark and overall business collaboration, but most of all, his friendship.

Completely heartbroken to hear of Mark's passing!!  I had a lot of fun with Mark bouncing ideas back and forth. One funny moment was when we were both in D13 (BBS) and he created the "Kitchen Sink" bar--it had EVERYTHING in it---we talked about literally throwing in ALL kinds of stuff---luckily he didn't take any thoughts from me (I was trying to put veggies in it---DENIED!)  We had a great giggle over that!
 He was very creative, smart, kind and always had an ear to listen!

Mark and I worked with each other for many years while we were both in the tobacco department.  Mark was a kind hearted, sincere and compassionate person always willing to lend a hand or an ear when needed.  He will be greatly missed.  My sincerest condolences to his family.  

Mark was one of the first buyers I had the opportunity to work for. He was always cheerful and friendly in his demeanor and I have nothing but positive memories of him.  I am heartbroken to hear of his passing and I wish peace for him and his family.

I worked with Mark closely for many years and he was really just  a really nice person, who always took the time to be kind and ask about how things were going. I will miss him and his kindness very much. I first met Mark at a buyer meeting and I remember he took the time to come up and introduce himself and really made me feel welcome/comfortable. He was just a good human. All my condolences to his family. 

As a buyer, or more importantly, as a human being, Mark was the finest kind. We will miss him!

Mark was my Brother from another mother.....  He was  a big part of our family.  We had so much fun together.  Here are some fun pictures of Mark on our family vacation to Disneyworld.  Mark was full of life and enjoyed his adventures and was a just a big kid.

Blessed to know him. Good man that was engaging and helpful. I will miss our conversations.

Mark, we love you and miss you so much every single day.  Doing life without you in it will be hard for some time to come, but I'm so very grateful for having almost 62 years with you. I'm very honored to say I had the privilege's of knowing Mark.  We had many conversations regarding dogs, a passion we both shared.  He had a kind  soul and will be truly missed. 

Mark was one of the kindest people that I have had the privilege to work with.  When My Wife passed away, Mark was one of the first to reach out to me, and every time he came to visit AZ he would invite me to dinner with him.  Heaven is brighter with Mark.  He will be missed.   A truly wonderful Man!

 

Mark has been a great colleague and friend for decades.  I enjoyed visiting and chatting about all kinds of things every time I saw him.  I relied on his help over the years and he was always so kind and happy to help.

Mark loved the outdoors and hiking, just as much as he loved Dogs.  Put the two together and it was a perfect day.   We had SO many adventures.
