She loved cooking, sewing, and being with her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed being surrounded by family. They were her whole world. She also partook in gardening. She loved going outside with her plants and tending to her roses. She always had her protector, a gorgeous German shepherd named Toby. He always accompanied her when she worked in her garden.
Our favorite foods she made were rice, soup, beans, and she always had fresh salsa. There was never a day without salsa.
She is survived by her children, Jesus Romero Jr., John Romero, Ignacio Serna, Delfina Perez, and Jacinta Fierro. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and 19 great-great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Jesus Romero Sr., son Rufino Serna, and grandchild Maritza Schoengold.
A visitation for Maria will be held Monday, February 12, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Glen Abbey Memorial Park and Mortuary, 3838 Bonita Road, Bonita, CA 91902. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, February 13, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, 3838 Bonita Road, Bonita, CA 91902. A committal service will occur Tuesday, February 13, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM, 3838 Bonita Road, Bonita, CA 91902.
