Manuel Ayson Santiago

Manuel Santiago, beloved Father and Lolo passed away on January 8, 2024, to be with the Lord. Manuel is survived by his wife, Flordeliza, married of 48 years and by his 3 children Olivia DeCastro, Emmanuel Santiago, & Florence McMoore. Grandchildren: Maeva McMoore, Manaialani McMoore, Manuafi McMoore, Nathan DeCastro, and Mataio McMoore. Son-in-Laws: Eric DeCastro and Viliamu McMoore.

Manuel was born in Albay-Legazpi City, Philippines. He joined the U.S. Navy and retired as (BTC) Boiler Technician Chief. He retired as well with the Poway Unified School District.

Manuel enjoyed life as a world traveler with his wife and friends. He has visited various places all around the United States, Europe, Asia, Australia, and South America.

Manuel had a love and passion for music and had played with various bands and music groups. He was a self taught musician and always had his guitar or keyboard ready to go.

One of his other passions was for his bicycles. He participated in various bicycle tours and races. He was able to build a bicycle from scratch and did bike repairs for his friends and family. He also served as a SAG (Support and Gear): to keep everyone safe, provide tools, bike support, and motivate the riders.

Manuel led a happy and fulfilled life with his wife, children, friends, and especially with his grandchildren.

Manuel (Lolo) will truly be missed.

Two nights of viewing will be held for Manuel on Tuesday, January 30, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM in the Magnolia Room, 3838 Bonita Road, Bonita, CA 91902 and Wednesday, January 31, 2024 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM also in the Magnolia Room, 3838 Bonita Road, Bonita, CA 91902. The following day a funeral mass will occur Thursday, February 1, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at St Charles Catholic Church, 990 Saturn Blvd, San Diego, CA 91902. Immediately following the funeral mass the burial will take place at Glen Abbey Memorial Park, 3838 Bonita Road, Bonita, CA 91902 from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM. The Santiago family invites you to join them for a luncheon from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM following the graveside service at the Orchid Pavilion, 3838 Bonita Road, Bonita, CA 91902.
