So very sorry to hear of Manny's passing. He was a good friend to my brother in high school, always kind and entertaining to me.
I remember him having a wonderful sense of humor, too. Bet he's laughing right now, hopefully with Joe.

Manny was one of the most professional, and at the same time, funniest and enjoyable people I worked with in the Navy.  I would not be a Captain in the Navy today if it wasn't for his mentorship when I was a young Lieutenant.  

I always felt safe when I was flying with Manny...  as I was going over 1000 hours, he was going over 3000.  He made long flights feel short, and was always on the ball.  He was a great leader to the junior aircrew as well.  I was extremely happy to see that he finished career as a Chief.

He was one of those guys who enriches your life for having known him.  I'm sad to hear of his passing, but he will live on in my memory as a legend.  It's as if I can still hear him over the radio replying to my queries with a witty repartee....

I met Manny at my BNI group quite a few years ago.  He joined our group and kept me laughing for the entire time he was a member.  He was always wanting to help when I asked for donations for my charity.  Later when USforwarriors was one of our charities, we reconnected. I was shocked to hear of his passing.  We lost a great man but God gained a super Angel.  RÍP Manny.  Condolences to your family.

I have worked with many in service to Veterans.. No one person made people smile and laugh more than Manny. Seeing Manny at an event made it worth the trip, when your ‘giving” battery was running low, his presence would rechange it. 
Manny I will miss your presence, but your smile and laughter will be with me forever. Goodbye my friend.

My brother Manny was the smartest person I have ever met.  He was the most loving uncle to my 3 kids and my heart will forever be broken from his passing.  I miss him daily.   Always have and always will.   R.I.P. Manolito and give our pops Manolo a big hug and kiss from me & the kids.  Until we meet again. 

I will always remember Manny fondly - we worked together at Tactical Training Group Pacific for many years.  He always kept us laughing, whether using one of his many movie character voices or just joking around.  He cared about people and we had many conversations about his work with the Wounded Warrior Foundation. Like his other teammates from the Navy or contract work, one enduring memory will be that he cared very much about doing the right thing on the job, keeping data current and providing realistic, accurate training to the Fleet. I am deeply saddened by his loss, I wish his family solace and peace.

I was Manny's first Division Chief at HSL-45. It was such a pleasure working with him. For those of you who knew Manny you know what a wild trip it was being around him. We had many good memories together and a lifetime of friendship. He made his brothers clean up my yard and he was the DJ at my daughter's Sweet 16 birthday celebration. I was at his retirement ceremony and listened to his benevolent speech. He never turned a back on anyone. And what a loyal family man he was. I will miss him in many days to come. 

I met Manny during my last two years in the Navy in San Diego.  Manny was in charge of the replacement aircrew training curriculum and he was always working on getting the most efficient and  effective training for the future aircrewmen.  Manny was determined to make Chief but was having problems getting his anchors. Sometime after I retired from the Navy, though, he was finally successful in getting to the next level and he retired as a Chief.  But even in his retirement, he went on to give more of his time and labor to help veterans like himself.
Manny was full of life...perhaps he unselfishly shared too much of it to help others successd and didn't keep enough for himself.

We are still numb about Manny passing away.  He was a dear friend.  We talked to him regularly regarding the Randy Jones Invitational and military events. He has been an integral part of our tournament and he will be greatly missed.  He helped us with volunteers,  getting golfers and has been our DJ at our gala every year in February.  We will miss him dearly!

When I switched over to helicopters Manny was one the instructors I flew with most. On my pre-NATOPS I was flying with Manny and he gave me a compliment that made me want to excel the next day for my NATOPS flight. After it was all over Manny and I talked about my time at HSL-41 and things I had learned..ect. Then he came to HSL-47 with me and I got to serve in the fleet with him. When I became an instructor I remember how Manny was and how the way he instructed me made a huge difference in the way I interacted with sailors I was responsible to teach. His level of instruction and level of Brotherhood, he brought to our shop, is what I strived and looked for every place I served. 
Manny you were a great Sailor,a great friend and a great AW brother and I will always be proud to have known you. You’ll be missed.

I worked with Manny at Tactical Training Group, Pacific as part of the Civilian War Gaming Staff. He was a great friend and co-worker and I really admired all the work he did to help veterans in need. My deepest condolences to his family.

Manny was one of the first "old salts" to take me under his wing when I arrived at HSL-49.  He was only five years older than me and a few years ahead of me in the AW pipeline but that's just how it goes in the community.  He was already a NATOPS instructor and was there to show us young guys the ropes.  His professionalism and mentorship was immeasurable.  Manny's unflappable sense of humor was always a welcomed tension-breaker and reminded us to let things roll off our backs and that no matter how rough things might be to still have fun.  We could always count on Manny to drop the best one-liners with the best timing at just the right moment.  (The goofball pose he struck in our Aircrew Shop group photo says it all) I learned so much from him at such an early, crucial time in my career.  Even in retirement, in the context of his selfless service to the veteran community he loved, he still inspired me from afar.  My heart aches to lose such a generous, sincere, and energetic man far too soon from this world.  Fair winds and following seas, shipmate.

I worked and flew with Manny back in HSL-43.  Manny and I were fellow Miami Dolphin fans and loved talking about them.  We would drive into work everyday and just talk about everything under the sun.  He was a great friend and person.  Always helping others.  It's been years since I've seen him but that never takes away the bond you share with you brothers who you've served with.  I was devastated to hear the news of his passing.  Fly high brother!!!  Fair seas and winds to your back.  Love you man.

I’m lost for words from your passing. I always will remember you as the cousin that had a great story for any family gathering. Your one line movie quotes were perfectly timed. Manny Otero I will remember you because of your generosity to your community,  your commitment to your family, and the friends you made everywhere you went.
