Manuel M. Mones

Manuel Martinez Mones was born on January 22, 1948 in the Philippines in a small town, Urdaneta, Pangasinan and passed away peacefully on August 5, 2011. He is survived by his wife, Remedios Mones, their three children, Jane, Darlene and Manuel Jr. and four grandchildren, Janeah, Brandon, Breannah and Madelyn.

Manuel was born to Francisco DeLeon Mones and Zoila Martinez Mones and had seven siblings named Aurora Sibayan, Tony Mones, Rodrigo Martinez, Gloria Tabor, Emy Cabana, Emily Cabanilla, Ria Dimal and Renny Mones. He attended and graduated from Palina East High School in 1969.

Manuel met and fell in love with Remedios Armendez Delos Santos and the couple exchanged wedding vows on July 26, 1969 at Urdaneta Municipal Court in Urdaneta, Pangasinan. They were later blessed with their three children Jane Mones Fangon, Darlene Mones Harris and Manuel Delos Santos Mones, Jr.

In 1974, Manuel and Remedios worked abroad in London, England to provide for their children and future opportunities. In July 1985, Manuel and his family moved to San Diego, California. He worked in the hospitality industry for the majority of his life, which he enjoyed.

Manuel’s spent much of his free time taking part in his favorite activities which included listening to oldies music and cleaning his cars. Ultimately, his most cherished times were spent with his family every Sunday.

In January 2009, one of his dreams was to go back home to the Philippines with the whole family. His dream came true and was made possible with the generosity of his daughter Jane and family.

Manuel will truly be missed but his spirit will live on with the wonderful memories he created with us and all of you.
